The Pikes Peak Suzuki Music
Association is a group of teachers in the Colorado Springs,
CO area who use the Suzuki Method in their studios. Our
association includes instructors of flute, cello, guitar, piano,
violin, and viola.
Developed by Shinichi Suzuki
of Japan, the Suzuki method helps children grow in character,
ability and sensitivity through the study of music. The method
is based on simple one-step-at-a-time learning which utilizes
listening, repetition and positive reinforcement to accomplish
its goals. Students participate in private as well as
group lessons, and parents play an active part in the lessons
and home practice. The purpose of Suzuki training is to help
every child find the joy that comes through music making.
